Hello doctor,

I have had neuropathy and neuralgia since taking my COVID-19 vaccine, which was a week ago. It started with a tingling sensation in my arm, which I thought was normal. Then as the day went by, organs on the left side of my body and intestines started to feel like I had pins and needles poking in. In the night, I woke up with a tingling sensation in my chest, face, and both arms.

The next day, my toes, fingers, arms, legs, and left side of my body started feeling the tingling sensation. Today, I had nerve pain in my fingers and toes, as if pins and needles were poking in my legs, intestines, and face. This sensation occurs at times off and on. I cannot feel my legs after sitting for a few minutes. I also experience a tingling sensation in my head. After experiencing a tingling sensation in my lower back for two days, I am now experiencing lower back pain. I have been weaning off prednisone for a few years, so I am currently taking only 1 mg dosage for Systemic lupus and Sjogren's. I am 40 years old. Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.Thank you for the query. I can understand your concern. For now, I suggest:

1) Pregabalin 75 mg, one capsule once a day at 8 PM as tolerated. Watch out for side effects such as dizziness.

2) Tablet Vitamin B complex, one tablet once a day.

To document if it is a post-vaccinal polyneuropathy, please undergo nerve conduction studies with a neurophysiologist. Do you have motor weakness or is it purely sensory symptoms?

Hi doctor,

Thank you for the answer,

My legs have fallen asleep and on the first night, I stumbled a bit. Sometimes my hands are shaky and when I bend down I have dizziness. Other than that, it is a pins and needles poking sensation in different parts of my body and nerve pain in my toes and thumbs.
