Nitroglycerin Cream

Nitroglycerin is a vasodilator meaning it dilates and relaxes the blood vessels. Its topical form is used to prevent chest pain in people with coronary artery disease. It cannot cure an angina attack, but it can prevent its occurence. Twice daily application with six hours gap is recommended. It is also used to relieve pain due to anal fissures. It relaxes the muscles of the blood vessel near the anus and gives relief from pain. It is advised to use 12 hourly for three weeks for complete relief.
