How to regularize the period cycle delayed due to Norethisterone?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I used a Primulot tablet for stopping periods for a day. My period cycle got disturbed. What can I do now? Please suggest.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

Using Primolut N (Norethisterone) for even one day can sometimes disturb your period cycle. It can cause delayed periods, irregular spotting, or early bleeding in the next cycle.

What you can do now:

Wait for your period: It may take a few days to a couple of weeks for your cycle to regulate.

Stay hydrated and eat a balanced diet: This helps balance hormones naturally.

Take warm fluids (ginger tea, cinnamon tea). These may help stimulate your period.

If it has been more than two weeks, consider taking a pregnancy test (if sexually active) and consult a doctor.

For future cycle regulation, you can take supplements like vitamin B6, magnesium, and omega-3 to help balance hormones. If your periods remain irregular for the next few cycles, it is best to visit a gynecologist for hormone tests. Let me know if you need home remedies or further guidance.

I hope this helps.

Thank you and take care.
