Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I remember that I twisted and pulled my penis and had a sudden shrink and felt some numbness. Can the penis head be 360 degrees turned inside? It looks quite normal, but the frenulum is numb and stiff, like steel. It is painful, and it stings. As I massaged it with cocoa butter, it is like deeper inside even hardened, and the circulation is not like it used to be. I am not sure if I need a massage or if someone needs to twist it back. Is it possible to be turned inside? Can I send the image? I am not sure if my band got pulled too hard, or it got twisted.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concerns.

First of all, I like to inform you that the penis root is composed of soft tissue and cannot be twisted 360 degrees inside. Even if you use all your force to twist your penis, it will return to normal unless there is damage to the tissue. So how do you know that there is damage to the tissue?

First of all, you will see there is a pain as well as swelling. In case that is not visible outside the presence of pain can indicate that there is something abnormal. Numbness is often an indicator of mild injury, and little intervention required in such cases. I also like to inform you that it is never advisable to go for a massage with soft tissue injury as it may bring more damage to the penis. I understand that it is soothing to have a massage, but it could be counter-productive.

Regarding the attached image (attachment removed to protect patient identity), I do not see any swelling at the root of penis. I also like to suggest you observe the surrounding area for any evidence of deep-seated pain or swelling. In case that is not present, you can assure that there is little permanent damage, if any. Finally, I like to state that the penis is a very delicate organ, and any rough handling brings problems rather than pleasure. Please consider it as an asset and avoid mishandling at any cost.

I hope this helps you.

Feel free to write back to me if you have more questions.

Thanks and regards.
