Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have problems with my genital, which affects my everyday life. I feel numbness, burning, inflammation, slight pain at urethra, whole body weakness, fatigue, and mild fever at morning. I have done numerous tests such as blood test thrice, ultrasound, urine test twice, and x-ray, but it did not detect any infection or disease. I am somewhat confused now. What might be the disease? So regarding this, I want to chat with you. My doctor advised me to contact an andrologist to rule out the discomfort at my genitals. What might be the cause? But andrologists are not available in my area. Kindly help.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

What might be the infection?

Answered by Dr. Ashok Kumar

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

It is most likely urinary tract infection. In my opinion, urine culture and sensitivity should be done as you are already receiving antibiotics with little success.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

After doing all the tests, the reports is found negative, why? After all, there is no sign of relief. I had done urine culture, but I did not get the results yet. If there is a chance of UTI, then why the infection is not detected? I had done a VRDL and HIV test, but the result was also negative.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Tests sometimes do not detect infection because it is either mild, viral, or partially treated with antibiotics. So when there are symptoms, we need to act based on clinical experience and not every time as per laboratory reports. In situations where fungal infections are the cause of the problem they do not get detected with routine testing and do not respond to routine antibiotics. Ask your doctor to prescribe either Gatifloxacin or Levofloxacin. Your bacteria found in the culture are sensitive to both of them among others but not for Doxylab which you are currently using.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

Which medicine works best? Please prescribe.

Answered by Dr. Ashok Kumar

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Prescription can be made by examining doctor only. Regarding medication, I already mentioned the best medicine for you.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

Now I am taking Disodium hydrogen citrate syrup and tablet Ciprofloxacin 500 mg. Each for five and seven days. What is your opinion regarding this medicine?

Answered by Dr. Ashok Kumar

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Hopefully, this will eliminate your infection. However, the required length of Ciprofloxacin treatment is ten days in your case.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

I shall strictly abide by the suggestion that you have made to me.
