Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

A few weeks ago, I had frequent urination, once in 10 minutes for 48 hours. I do not have any pain, but just a big urge to urinate. After seeing a urologist and doing blood and urine work, he concluded everything is normal. For the last six days, my complete body from head to toe is numb, like I do not have sensation in my body. I also do not feel the sense to urinate or to defecate. I am completely numb. I can walk fine, but when I run for 100 miles, I could not feel anything. I recently had a mild frontal lobe headache. Neurologist ran rests that turned out normal, MRI without the contrast of spine, brain, and CT are normal. I cannot even process information well because I feel like I am drunk or something. I can feel the sensation for 30 to 60 minutes a day, but it passes very soon. I also have reduced smell (tested negative for COVID-19). What should I do next? How to recover my sensation?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I passed through your question carefully and recommended performing further tests to investigate possible causes underlying your complaints.

1. Vitamin B12 and Vitamin D plasma levels for possible deficiency.

2. Antibodies for Lyme disease.

3. Vitamin E plasma levels for possible deficiency.

You should discuss with your doctor the above tests.

In the meantime, I would recommend taking Sertraline or Fluvoxamine to help improve your sensation.

I hope this helps.
