Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

My mother could not see or close one of her eyes properly in the morning, 20 days back. After five hours, it came back, and she could normally see with her eyes. The doctor says that nothing was wrong with her eyes by examining her. But when she opened her eyes, she says that she feels like it will fall. And she can see only when she closes the other eye, that too a blurred vision. And because of this, she started to walk slowly. She does not have any headaches and currently not taking any medicine. The doctor says there is a problem in the eye at a particular point behind her eyes. So can you please see the MRI scan and explain that point. Her vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse rate, blood sugar levels, respiratory rate, and body temperature, are normal.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your question carefully and would explain that your mother's symptoms do not indicate anything serious. I would also recommend consulting with a neurologist and performing repetitive nerve stimulation to check for the possible myasthenic syndrome (muscle weakness). However, her symptoms are not entirely compatible with such disorder. It is also necessary for checking thyroid hormone levels for possible thyroid gland dysfunction. Unfortunately, I cannot open the file of MRI. Could you please try to upload it again or the report image? I remain at your disposal for any further questions whenever you need it.

Kind regards.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you so much for your reply.

The doctor told me that her blood report shows some inflammation, so she could not see properly, and he said that there are no tumors or any abnormalities. Therefore he prescribed some medicines to recover from it. What do you prefer?

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Her MRI images seem to be normal (attachment removed to protect patient identity). Coming to this point, as inflammation is present, steroids may be given. I would also recommend checking the vitamin B12 plasma levels.

I hope to have been helpful to you.

I wish you all the best.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
