Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

My periods are usually regular, and last month I had my period in the second week. Afterward, my boyfriend and I had sex a week later, during which his condom broke in between, but we were not sure of it as it was dark. We only found it torn in the morning. So then I ordered a pill and had it in the late morning. I read in the pack that it is fine to consume it within 72 hours after sex, and I had it within 24 hours. But still, I am scared. What is my chance of getting pregnant? When can I expect my period to come this month?

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern.

If you have taken an emergency pill, you are safe. However, watch for your menstrual cycle if it is delayed or missed. In addition, I suggest you maintain strict hygiene and avoid sexual intercourse for a while.

Thank you.
