Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I was doing a mouth check and noticed that an area inside my mouth on both inner cheek under the jawbone it is white in color. What could this be and it is the same on both sides? I am currently on Zoloft and Amoxycillin.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

There are various types of white lesion in the mouth, some are harmful but some are temporary and curable. You have not not described about your habit like smoking or tobacco consumption and also not mentioned that these white lesion are painful or not, or making any discomfort during taking food. If there is any burning sensation or pain, then it may be associated with some local infection like fungal infection. Some time nutritional deficiency will also associate with these lesions.

You could follow some instructions:

Maintain proper oral hygiene.

Do not touch the affected area.

Do not take too hot and spicy food.

No smoking or tobacco consumption.

Take sufficient amount of water.

Please visit your nearest dental office for a clinical examination. After a clinical examination the dentist could find out the root cause and suggest the best treatment for same.
