Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

My partner gave me oral sex, however afterward I remembered that when I used the toilet earlier my foreskin touched the inside of the toilet bowl, and now I am a bit worried. I know that theoretically, the risk of me catching a sexually transmitted infection in this way is minimal to nonexistent but I am worried as my partner gave me oral sex and therefore had my penis in her mouth. I do not want to give her anything because my penis touched the inside of the toilet bowl. Kindly provide a second opinion on this.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern and want to tell you that most viruses including HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) cannot survive on inanimate surfaces for even seconds. Even if we assume that the toilet sheet was used previously by some infected person even then the risk of transmission is almost nil. No need to worry. Just stay relaxed. The way of transmission by this means is zero. Even oral sex is considered as safest mode. I hope I have cleared your doubts.

Thank you.
