Hi,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
I just read your query and went through your report (attachment removed to protect patient identity). Your problem comes under a moderate category. You cannot revert the damage that occurred already, but you can maintain your state and can stop further destruction. Medicine, as well as exercise both, are equally important for you. Continue the medication you are taking. Besides, I suggest you follow the treatments given below at least for a month for positive results.
Tablet Shallaki (Shallaki) two tablets, two times a day with water after food for four weeks, Dashmool kashayam 15 ml, twice a day with water after food for four weeks, tablet Kaishore Guggulu (Gokshuru, Amruta, Guduchi) two tablets, two times a day with water after food for four weeks and capsule Haridra (Turmeric and Curcuma Longa) two capsules, two times a day with water after food for four weeks. Do not swallow these medicines. Chew them first and then take it with lukewarm water. Consult your specialist doctor, discuss with him or her and take the medicine with their consent.
Add ginger and garlic to your routine diet. You can also take one to two cloves of garlic daily. Take some ginger and boil it in water and take it as tea or you can add ginger to your regular tea.
Do a gentle massage with Lakshadi oil (Taila, Aranala, Laksha), 10 to 15 minutes daily and take a bath with lukewarm water after an hour. You can also give hot water (with salt) fomentation during the pain. Do not put an extremely hot cloth on your knee. Take a piece of camphor and boil it in one cup of mustard oil till it dissolves completely. Gently massage with this oil for 10 to 15 minutes daily.
Exercise is essential for you because it will help you in maintaining the joint mobility. Initially, do not go for the strenuous exercises, rather go with an easy one. Start walking daily at least 30 to 60 minutes a day and cycling for some time. After seven to 10 days, when your body becomes little habituated to the workouts, then start doing yoga. But, if you find it difficult, then do not force yourself. You can try asanas like trikonasana, garudasana, virabhadrasana along with walking. Rest is equally important for you. Do not overuse your joints in the name of the exercise. Add foods like flaxseeds, walnuts, olive, canola, soya bean, strawberries, turnip greens, vitamin D fortified cereals, etc., in your diet. Follow all these things regularly, and revert to me after one month regarding improvement and for further management. I hope you will feel the positive results.
Thank you.
