Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have been suffering from a cold and an infection in my ear, and I also have had a cough for a month. On consulting the doctor, he told me that I had swelling in my ear. Now I do have a fever of 100 degrees Fahrenheit, and mucus is very much in my chest. I am taking Crocin, Amoxycillin, and cough syrup which was given by a doctor. I have a headache, too, due to a stuffed nose. Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your query.

  1. You have otitis media-like ear infection as per history.
  2. For that, the Amoxycillin antibiotic and the prescribed drug are suggested and can be taken.
  3. Decongestant drugs like Levocetirizine or Phenylephrine are suggested for congestion relief.
  4. Do steam inhalation in warm water three times a day.
  5. Take one teaspoon of turmeric powder with milk daily.
  6. Avoid excess spicy foods.
  7. Drink more water.
  8. Water will help in loosening mucus.

If there is no improvement, then PNS X-ray, auscultation, etc., are suggested.

Consult an otorhinolaryngologist for examination.

Kind regards.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
