Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 30-year-old woman. I got married eight months ago and have been trying to conceive for three months. My gynecologist suggested that my endometrium was thin on day two of menstruation. They prescribed a tablet Siphene after which they did three follicular studies and gave me an injection Ovitrop on the 13 th day. My endometrium was 13 mm at that time. However, one course of treatment got completed, and it failed.

I am worried about whether the tablets and injections will affect my or baby's health. Also, I have read that injection of Overin will cause hypersensitivity syndrome. I have stopped the treatment and my period flow is very low. What do I do?

Kindly advise.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

As it has been only three months since you have been trying to get pregnant, I suggest you go for unprotected sex for a year and go for fertility investigations if you cannot conceive.

I suggest the below lifestyle changes:

  • Regular exercise.
  • Healthy and nutritious diet with less oil, salt, and sugar.
  • Tablet Folic acid 0.4 mg daily.
  • Sex during the fertile period (between 7 to 19 days on alternate days).
  • Maintaining a healthy weight by having a normal BMI (body mass index).
  • Avoid recreational drugs as it reduces fertility and increases the risk of congenital anomalies.

I hope this helps.

Take care.
