Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have had cuts in my private part after having sex that does not heal for three to four days. Why does it occur and what is the solution? Kindly help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern.

Vaginal irritation, burning sensation, or cut-like sensation is due to insufficient lubrication or too much friction during intercourse. Other causes include:

  1. Latex allergy (allergic dermatitis) - In the case of allergic dermatitis, there will be itching, a burning sensation, and vaginal dryness. The symptoms will appear one to two days after the sex.
  2. Sexually transmitted infections (STI)- They often do not produce any symptoms but can sometimes cause vaginal itching.
  3. Candidiasis or fungal infection.

I suggest you use a water-based lubricant next time. If symptoms do not improve, it is important to visit a gynecologist for an internal examination to look for any local infection.

Hope this answers your question.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
