Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

My gynecologist told me that I have a midplane anteverted uterus. I recently became sexually active and it is uncomfortable with deep thrusting. My doctor said I do not have any other infections or problems. What is the best way to handle this? Which kinds of positions would suit better? This is becoming a bit frustrating for my partner and me. Please help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

The midplane anteverted uterus is normal position and not a cause for your discomfort. Initial few sexual encounters can produce discomfort or pain and there is no reason to worry about it. There is no need to try special position during sex to reduce discomfort, as there is no specific position to be advocated. You can try in any position comfortable for you. With time, the discomfort should subside. The only thing you need to take care to reduce discomfort is to have proper lubrication during sex, by having adequate foreplay. You can use lubricant if foreplay alone is not sufficient.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
