Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I was struggling with reddening, itching, and tenderness on the penis head and under the foreskin. I self-diagnosed a fungal infection and started applying Candid B cream twice a day for a week. With a slow recovery, I decided to take oral medication for the same. My pharmacist suggests Fluka 150 (Fluconazole) oral tablets. I took the medication for four days daily, single dose. Yesterday, after drastic improvement in my symptoms, I discontinued taking Fluka. Now I am having abdominal discomfort, passing excess gas, and feeling slight anxiety Should I continue the medication? For how many days? Is it possible I misdiagnosed my condition?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Get physically examined and investigated to rule out any medical condition and treat accordingly. Take medicine only under prescription and close observation of the doctor.

Check vitals. Drink plenty of water and fluids. Maintain strict hygiene. Wear loose cotton comfortable clothes and underclothes. Avoid sexual contact if any for a while. Avoid cream lotion salon treatments, cream lotion oil massages, perfumes, etc.

Take tablet Rantac twice daily unless otherwise contraindicated with water for three days before meals.

Feel free to follow up anytime. Follow diet modification.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

Going to a doctor for examination seems a little difficult at this time, due to the lockdown. Could you please tell me the purpose of the medicines Rantac and Contra?

Monitoring my condition post my query here, I have felt better after the release of some gas. However, I feel slight nausea, and felt quite full while eating food, even though the last meal I had was yesterday's dinner. There is slight discomfort under the left lung and in the area between the pelvis and abdomen on the left side as well. I can feel my heart beating in my stomach almost.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Rantac is the safest antacid to be taken if there is no contraindication as I gave not examined you physically. Make sure to have diet modification. For details on diet please follow up.

Avoid fatty, fried, junk, non-veg, alcohol, smoking, etc. Drink plenty of water and fluids. Do walking, yoga, and exercise as health permits it will gradually help you.

Exact diagnosis and treatment can be suggested upon physical examination and investigation only. Sit in vajra asan unless otherwise contraindicated.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

I have been monitoring my diet to some extent, and I usually eat healthy foods made at home only. Can I take Pan 40 antacid instead? I hope discontinuing Fluka 150 will not have any negative effects on me. Also, I might have by mistake ingested small traces of the Candid B ointment. Could that cause issues? Should I be worried?

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Candid B is only topical. Discontinue medication if it does not suit is essential. Get physically examined and investigated to rule out any medical condition and treat accordingly. Yes, you may take an antacid.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
