Q. What could be the reason for swelling on one side of the neck and a popping sensation in the ear?

I am a 22-year-old male with sudden severe pain on my left side of the face, which felt like an electric shock. I went to the ER, took antibiotics, and got an extraction done, but the pain persisted. Kindly help.

I understand your concern.
Kindly upload a photograph of the extraction site to know the current healing status, and see if there are other dental issues like a sensitive tooth that can also be felt as shocks when it comes in contact with hot or cold water or food. Neuralgic pain is also an issue but can be ruled out after seeing the photograph. For now, I would suggest:
- Betadine mouthwash (Povidone iodine 2 percent) to gargle in lukewarm water twice daily.
- Tablet Ibuprofen.
