Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have been experiencing flank pain with blood clots in my urine for the last few days. I consulted a specialist doctor and did a few tests. The urologist did not find anything conclusive. The initial diagnosis was that I had passed a kidney stone. The issue I am having is that the blood clots seem to get bigger, causing pain until I can pee them out. Do I need to consult the doctor again?

Kindly help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have gone through the reports you have attached (attachments removed to protect the patient's identity), and I agree with the treatment they have given you. However, it is very uncommon for anyone to keep on passing blood with clots in their urine many days after passing any calculus (unless they have a blood clotting disorder ). I would advise you to take the Flomax (Tamsulosin Hydrochloride) tablet for a week at least, as it will help to clear out the kidneys. Consult your specialist doctor, talk with them, and take medications with their consent. Please continue to drink two to three liters of fluids per day. If your hematuria does not settle within the next few days, I recommend going in for a cystoscopy and bilateral ureterorenoscopy to rule out any pathology missed by the contrast CT (computed tomography) scan.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
