Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am 24 years old. Sometimes, I have chest pain, pain in my left arm, breathlessness, and palpitations. I have got my ECG done twice six months ago. Also, I had got my blood tests done. All the test reports were normal. Also, I had taken the tablet Etizolam for ten days. I felt better when I used the medications, however once I stopped using them, the symptoms have recurred. Is there a problem with my heart? Kindly advise.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern and will surely help you out. An unusual awareness of our heartbeat is called palpitation. It can occur due to various reasons like: Fast heart rate, slow heart rate, irregular heart rate, being overcautious about heartbeats, and thin, lean patients can feel heartbeats, especially in a recumbent position. I suggest you follow the below steps. Avoid being overcautious about it. Do regular aerobic exercises; they will condition the heart and help in reducing palpitations. If you feel palpitations, relax, count your pulse rate and assess regularity. If the rate is more than 100 beats per minute, at rest, I suggest you get an ECG (electrocardiogram) done. I hope this helps. Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
