Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My mother is 60 years old. Admitted to a nursing home for the past six days having severe pain just below the breast and surrounding the backside. Have done all tests like echo, treadmill test (TMT), ultrasonography (USG), CT scan, and mammogram. Everything is fine. But still the pain persists. Without pushing injection no other option is left now. The doctor has discharged recommending no bad symptoms. But pain is beyond control. Please suggest what sort of tests further we should do. She has a neurological disorder.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com. Regarding your concern, I would explain that her symptoms could be related to pancreatitis or a nerve pain. For this reason, I would recommend performing a cervicothoracic spine magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and some blood lab tests as follows: 1. Amylase and lipase plasma levels for pancreatitis. 2. PCR (polymerase chain reaction) for inflammation. A fibrogastroscopy is necessary if she has not performed it yet. Does she have any skin lesions? Shingles could mimic this clinical situation.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
