Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

For the past two days my father is having some delusions that people will kill him. Whenever we try to explain the reality, he gets angry. He is 49 years old, weighs 48 kg with a height of 5 feet 3 inches.

Kindly help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your situation and concern about your father. He may have psychosis (schizophrenia). He may even have auditory hallucinations. If he abuses or consumes alcohol then he has to stop it otherwise there are no medications that can help him. You can give him a tablet of Olanzapine 5 mg at night, after consulting a specialist doctor. You should take him to the nearest psychiatrist for detailed evaluation and further management.

Hope this helps.

Kindly revert in case of further queries.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
