Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am a 22-year-old male with a weight of 178.57 Ibs and a height of six feet. Before a week, I started to have a rash on the head or shaft of the penis. I do not have any itching or burning but I am worried about it. I am living in a monogamous relationship for the past three years and nothing has happened like this before. I got the rashes suddenly. I do not have any changes in my personal life. I do not have changes in urination or ejaculation. There is no burning and I have itchiness around the mark on the shaft. The bumps on the penile head are not itchy but it is sensitive.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have gone through the attached photo (attachment removed to protect patient identity). It looks like dermatitis. You should consult a dermatologist to perform a swab test. This helps to identify the cause whether it is due to a viral infection or bacterial infection or fungal infection or something else. Please take an appointment with a dermatologist soon. For time being, I will suggest creams to treat the penis.

The Probable causes

The cause has to be identified by doing a swab test.

Investigations to be done

You need to do a swab test and dermoscopy.

Probable diagnosis

You can have dermatitis for unknown reasons.

Treatment plan

You can use Hydrocortisone cream 1% and an anti-fungal cream for the penis.

Preventive measures

Condoms can rupture when they are used on a creamed penis. Avoid sex and follow good hygiene until the cause is identified.

Regarding follow up

Revert any time you want.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
