Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 21-year-old female and have pimples on my cheeks.

Kindly help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Wash your face at least two to three times a day. You can use a gentle cleanser like Cetaphil. Treat dandruff if present with a Ketoconazole 2 % shampoo like Scalpe or Nizral. You can send clear photographs for further assessment and suggestions.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I have gone through the photos (attachments removed to protect the patient's identity).

My advice:

Talk to your specialist doctor and take the medications after their consent.

  1. Wash your face at least two to three times a day.
  2. You can use a gentle cleanser like Cetaphil (water, Cetyl Alcohol, Propylene Glycol, and Sodium Lauryl Sulfate).
  3. Treat dandruff if any with Ketoconazole 2 % shampoo like Scalpe or Nizral.
  4. You can apply Adapalene like Adaferin gel at night after face wash. There may be slight irritation or peeling, but you will gradually get used to it.
  5. Apply a Clindamycin gel like Clindac-A gel in the morning.

Observe for a few weeks. Observe if acne increases with a fatty or high carbohydrate diet. If so, then decrease them in your diet. If acne worsens or does not improve then consult your dermatologist for further examination and management.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
