Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 26-year-old male, and I am facing an issue of erectile dysfunction. I cannot maintain my erection for intercourse, and I also have a lot of pain in my legs. Can you diagnose my condition and its treatment? I have a smoking habit, no diabetes, and no high or low blood pressure complaints. I am worried; kindly help me with the treatment. Also, why am I unable to get erections or maintain them, and is my leg pain below the back side of the knee related to it?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Erection problems are common in adult men. Almost all men sometimes have trouble getting or keeping an erection. In many cases, the problem goes away with little or no treatment. In other cases, it can be an ongoing problem. It is a problem if you have trouble getting or keeping an erection more than 25 % of the time. An erection involves your brain, nerves, hormones, and blood vessels. Anything that interferes with these normal functions can lead to problems getting an erection. This can be treated at home as well as with medicines, but most of the time, it gets cured on its own. So try this, and if the problem persists, consult a urologist in your area. Lifestyle changes can help reduce smoking, alcohol, and illegal drug use. Get plenty of rest and take time to relax. Exercise and eat a healthy diet to keep good blood circulation. Use safe sex practices to prevent HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) infection and STDs (sexually transmitted diseases). Talk openly to your partner about sex and your relationship. If you cannot do this, counseling can help. I hope this helps.

Thank you.
