Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am 32 years old and just got married last year. I am having a problem maintaining an erection during sex. My feeling of having sex is also reduced a lot. I do not feel like doing it at all. Please do let me know what can be done.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Reduced desire and poor erection can be because of depression and other anxiety disorders. It may also be due to medical illnesses like diabetes, hypertension, etc. So visit a nearby doctor for further evaluation and if the medical cause is found, take treatment accordingly. If no medical cause is not there, and this problem is only due to psychological issues, taking antidepressants and Viagra-like (Sildenafil) medication helps. Meanwhile, do regular exercise, take a healthy diet, avoid alcohol, tobacco, or other recreational drugs. Spend enough time during foreplay. Thanks and regards.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thanks for your reply.

I have recently done blood tests and do not have any diabetes or anything. There is no medical issue on that part. I am even doing regular exercises. So can you suggest me antidepressants and Viagra-like medication for this?

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

It is good to know that you do not have any medical illness. You can take antidepressants from SSRI (Selective Serotonin reuptake inhibitor) group such as Fluoxetine 20 mg in the morning or Sertraline 50 mg at bed time, and Sildenafil 50 mg one hour before sexual activity. Also, if the issue persists, then visit a nearby psychiatrist for further evaluation and treatment. I hope this will help you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
