Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I was writing hunched over my notebook for about 1.5 hours. When I straightened up while doing back stretches, it popped loudly. I felt a sudden headache immediately as well as a feeling of confusion and memory failure like losing my mind. Why?

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

The pop sound you heard may be due to crepitus, which people feel after being in a particular posture for a long time. Your loss of orientation may be caused by temporarily reduced blood flow to the brain as in vertebrobasilar insufficiency. You need to strengthen your neck muscles and avoid bad postures of the neck for extended periods. You also must do stretches very slowly and not in a hurry.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
