Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I need advice on post-COVID-19 recovery. I was hospitalized for 25 days with a CT score of 16 out of 25 and 50 percent lung involvement. I got discharged one week ago, and all medications are over. But I am having difficulty sleeping at night. I am not getting deep sleep at all. I still have shortness of breath after any activity. Please help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Post-COVID-19 (coronavirus disease 2019) recovery will be challenging. As you have more than 50 percent lung involvement in your CT (computed tomography), score recovery will be very challenging. Kindly repeat CRP (c-reactive protein), D-dimer, serum ferritin, serum LDH (lactate dehydrogenase), and CBC (complete blood count). If these markers are elevated, repeat them once every 15 days or else do it once a month up to four months. Kindly repeat these tests within few days and revert to me as soon as possible. Based on the value of markers, you need to take some allopathic medicines too. Now I suggest you some Siddha medicines which help in post-COVID-19 stress, Nellikai legiyam 0.17 ounces twice daily after food, Amukkara choornam tablet two tablets twice daily, Athimadhuram tablet. Chew one tablet twice daily if you have a sore throat, and Ashwagandha arishtam 1.01 fluid ounces mixed with normal water in the morning on an empty stomach.

Apart from this, steam with nochi leaves (Vitex negundo) one time a day. Take milk twice a day with half spoon of turmeric powder. Avoid climbing stairs. Avoid heavy work. All these have to be followed for four months. It will take time. Better follow this for four months for a better recovery.
