Hello doctor,
I am a 37-year-old male, a very active athlete. I had sexual interaction with a sex worker, specifically oral sex without any protection, she is young, and her face has lots of acne, and I also noticed some lumps in her scalp, but her entire body skin is clear. I started taking tablet Truvada as a precaution after less than 24 hrs without consultation. Is that safe? Secondly, I train very hard for endurance sports and on lots of multivitamins containing omega 3 fatty acids, magnesium, vitamin D, vitamin C, vitamin E, vitamin K, glucosamine sulfate,cCollagen hydrolysate, chondroitin sulfate, and methylsulfonylmethane. Is there any potential drug interactions with these vitamins or risk for me doing sports?

Hi doctor,
No, there was no vaginal or anal intercourse, and there were neither ulcers nor bad smell from her vagina or anus. Her body skin is clear. Only the neck, face, and scalp had acne. She had just normal discharges attributed to arousal from her vagina. Now I took two doses and did not run any laboratory tests. Should I discontinue tablet Truvada or continue and run lab tests?

I understand your concern.
After going through your history, the kind of exposure you have had is low to negligible risk. The chances of HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) transmission through oral sex is almost zero. There has been no penetrative intercourse, so there would be no indication to take any post-exposure prophylaxis. You can stop tablet Truvada (Emtricitabine 200 mg and Tenofovir disoproxil fumarate 300mg) as the kind of risk in your act is mostly zero as per CDC (centers for disease control and prevention), and NACO (national AIDS control organisation). However, I would suggest you go for laboratory investigations, get a fourth generation HIV test four weeks after the exposure, use a condom, and try to maintain a monogamous relationship.
