Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I had a cesarean operation before nine months. But, my stitches have not been cured yet. Earlier, pus used to come out of the hard structure and began to gather on my belly. Now, after two months, again a little bit of stitch has been opened. Please help me.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com. I have reviewed all the details you provided (attachment removed to protect patient identity). Based on your symptoms of pus at the postoperative suture site, it appears that you have developed an infection. I recommend consulting a general surgeon for further evaluation and treatment. It is possible that there is a localized pocket of pus beneath the stitches, which may require drainage for complete healing. An ultrasound may be necessary to confirm this. In order to determine the appropriate antibiotics, it is important to send a sample of the pus for culture and sensitivity testing. The results of the test will guide the choice of antibiotics for effective treatment. Please note that the infection is unlikely to heal unless the pus is drained and, if necessary, debridement is performed. To promote healing and prevent further complications, it is important to keep the area clean. You can apply Betadine or Mupirocin ointment at the suture site as directed. Once again, I strongly advise you to consult a general surgeon for further evaluation and appropriate treatment of your infection.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
