Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am 20 years old and I want to postpone my periods for 20 days due to work issues. Can you suggest a way?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

You can have some tablets based on hormones that could delay your periods. But, I want you to be aware that it can disturb your cycles, cause irregular bleeding, some water retention, breast heaviness, etc. But it is not necessary that your body will show all the effects and you will have all the symptoms. For delaying the cycle, it's better to take tablets at least 10 days before, otherwise a week before is also alright. Everyone responds differently. I suggest tablet Primolut N (Norethisterone) 10 mg daily if starting 10 days before the menstrual date, but if starting after, you can have 5 mg three times a day. Consult your specialist doctor, discuss with him or her and start taking the medicines with their consent. It depends on how long you want to delay. You can stop it a week before like if you want to have periods around 14th of the month, stop tablets on 8th.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
