Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Can one have or eat products with rapeseed or canola oil before a colonoscopy? I need help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have read your query. I will try to guide you, but detailed food instructions are given to the patient by the doctor performing the colonoscopy.

I suggest a low residue diet (LRD) three days before the scheduled date, followed by a clear liquid diet one day before colonoscopy. A low residue diet consists of various food items to eat, including oil, butter, and well-cooked vegetables. If you specifically ask about canola oil in the LRD, I am unaware of it. However, you can ask the hospital nurse or doctor to clear your specific canola oil.

I hope my answer guides you somewhat.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
