Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have to ask about my risk of pregnancy from precum. My husband just let his penis inside me three to four times without a condom, and he did not have an orgasm. Could I be pregnant? This happened around two months back. I got my period five days after the event, which was my regular date. I also got periods after a month, but periods lasted only two days, and a little bleeding happened on the third and fourth days. Can I be pregnant?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

Pre-ejaculate or precum usually does not contain sperm, so the chances of pregnancy are very low. Moreover, you seem to have got your periods twice after unprotected intercourse. So, it is unlikely that you may be pregnant. But still, for your confirmation, you can check your urine for pregnancy with an early morning urine sample. This is because the bleeding pattern had been different from prior cycles. If it is negative, you can stay assured that you are not pregnant.

Hope this helps.

Regards.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you. I have PCOD. Will that affect my pregnancy tests? I am worried as I am trying not to be pregnant.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

No, it will not affect your urine pregnancy test. Just check the test so that you can be sure that you are not pregnant.

Revert in case of queries.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thanks again. I had periods last week as well. I also did a pregnancy test at home which came negative. The test was done in the morning urine. But I had no periods to date.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

As you have already mentioned that you have PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome), probably a delayed period because of that. You need to do regular exercises and modify your diet and lifestyle. As the urine pregnancy test is negative, I would suggest you take the tablet Meprate 10 mg twice daily for five days and then stop and wait for your withdrawal bleed. Alternatively, after you get your periods, you can start with the cyclical combined oral pills for menstrual regulation, which would also take care of your birth control precautions.

Hope that was helpful information.

Take care.
