Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am a 21-year-old girl with a weight of 72 lbs and a height of five feet four inches. I have a history of Hodgkin's lymphoma and got treatment before four years. I read about splash pregnancy. A similar thing happened to me and to my boyfriend. We never had proper vaginal sex. Can I have a hymen breakage? He ejaculated on and around my vagina but not inside it. I urinated after that and I splashed some water but not washed fully. After that, he fingered me. I want to know whether I have a chance to become pregnant. I expect my periods to come after ten days from today. What to do?

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Pregnancy cannot be predicted without knowing your ovulation period. Sperms are attracted chemically towards the egg. So semen does not need to enter the vagina. Even if they fall on the thighs, they can find their way up to the egg within half an hour. Washing with soaps or with any chemical agent can reduce sperm health. Eggs can stay alive for 24 hours and sperms can live for three days. So pregnancy can be calculated when you know your ovulation date either by period days or by using LH (luteinizing hormone) kit or by using an ovulation kit or you can check your vaginal discharge or basal body temperature. Now, you need to wait to get your periods and check for pregnancy in urine if there is a delay in periods even for a day, and have a serum beta hCG (human chorionic gonadotrophin) blood test.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
