Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I had sex with my wife 25 days back. It was the tenth day of her period, and her menstrual cycle is 29 days cycle. She took an Unwanted 72 pill within three hours of intercourse. After nine days withdrawal bleeding started. And it lasts for three to four days. Today is the 15 th day; we had a urine pregnancy test. It is negative. Are there any chances of pregnancy?

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thanks for reaching out. As the urine pregnancy test is negative, and she had withdrawal bleeding, there is no chance of pregnancy. I hope this helps. It was my pleasure to help you with the medical query, and I would be happy to help you in the future.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you for your reply.

But I need a detailed answer. I had sex with my wife a month back. It was the tenth day of her period, and her menstrual cycle is 29 days cycle. She took an Unwanted 72 pill within three hours of intercourse. After nine days of withdrawal, bleeding started. And it lasts for 3 to 4 days. Today is the 15th day; we had a urine pregnancy test. It is negative. Are there any chances of pregnancy?

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

As the urine pregnancy test is negative, the chances of pregnancy are extremely less. The second thing is that she had bleeding in between her cycle on a ninth day after intercourse, which lasted for three to four days. So her this period will be delayed as she had some bleeding already. You can expect the menses to occur around or after the last week of this month. Do not stress. It takes a bit of time for hormones to get back to normal. I hope this helps you with your query. Feel free to reach out with any further questions.

Patient's Query

Thank you, doctor, for your reply.

Now I want to know the accurate result. Is my wife pregnant or not? What to do? Because we do not wish to be pregnant now.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

As urine pregnancy test is negative, the chances of pregnancy are extremely low. If you are still worried, you can repeat the pregnancy test next week as well. Do not worry; her periods are delayed due to the midcycle bleeding.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
