Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I had unsafe sex with my fiance. Now so much scared about the after-effects. We did not do any deep intercourse, then I ejaculated outside, but still, I have tension. Will she get pregnant, and how to know that? And how do we avoid pregnancy? It is already two days, what will we do?

Please help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Let me give you few facts about getting pregnant.

Usually, ovulation occurs around 13 to 14th day of periods. Fourteen days after ovulation, you get periods, if not pregnant. The highest chance of pregnancy occurs 2 to 3 days before and after that day of ovulation. If you have not ejaculated into the vagina or if no semen has fallen near the vagina, then the chance of pregnancy is very lowNow, if you have had sex in 1st or ĺast week of periods, pregnancy chances are low. If you doubt getting pregnant, have any of the emergency contraception pills like I-pill immediately. The highest results are if you have pills within 72 hours of sex.

You can diagnose pregnancy only after 14 days by doing a serum beta hCG blood test.

I hope I have clarified your query.

All the best.
