Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I had my period five months ago. Fifteen days later, my partner and I had protected sex. There was genital rubbing before using the condom and then penetration, but we used a condom. We also checked regularly, and the condom did not seem to be broken. Is there a chance of pregnancy, given that the condom seemed effective?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Following is my opinion on your question.

During penis rubbing to the vagina, precum fluid of the penis can enter the vagina, so there is a chance of getting pregnant if fluid enters the vagina. However, pregnancy usually occurs by full penetrative unprotected sexual intercourse mainly. So, the pregnancy chance is significantly less in your case. Do not worry. But if your period is delayed for more than a week, then rule out pregnancy by urine hCG card test, a simple five-minute procedure.

I hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Best regards.
