Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I got my periods at the end of last month. It lasted for four days. On the third and fourth day, I had sexual intercourse with my boyfriend few times. But I do not had bleeding at that time. Now I have bleeding today when I waked up in the morning. I took contraception after sex. Why do I have bleeding now? I am worried about it.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Bleeding can occur due to two reasons. It can occur due to any physical injury that happened during sexual intercourse. It occurs due to forceful and vigorous penetration. If you have any other symptoms, then it is better to consult a doctor for having a physical examination. It can cause further damage due to inflammation and secondary infection. The second possibility is the use of contraceptives. If you have taken Mifepristone, then it can cause excessive bleeding. Most of the contraceptive used for emergency purpose causes excessive or withdrawal bleeding. Please mention the contraceptive medicine used and so I can suggest an alternative medication.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
