Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My menstrual period had lasted for more than three weeks and had not ended. What to do?

Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I went through your query and understood your concern.

Your condition needs immediate attention, as with continuous bleeding, you might have symptoms of anemia. I suggest you do the serum beta-hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) pregnancy test to confirm your pregnancy status.

If the pregnancy test comes positive, then I suggest you do an ultrasound scan. I suggest you need a surgical evacuation of the retained products inside the uterus. If the blood pregnancy test comes negative, then I suggest you take a painkiller and a tablet of Tranexamic acid (antifibrinolytic) 500 milligrams thrice daily for five days to reduce bleeding. I also suggest you take iron supplements and a diet rich in iron.

Kindly consult a specialist doctor, talk with them, and take medicines with their consent.

I hope this has helped you.

Thanks and regards.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
