Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I had pain radiating into the penis and anus during and following intercourse since I got a perineal massage. Can this be due to pudendal neuralgia? Kindly help.

Answered by Dr. Hitesh Kumar

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I would like to know some details of your symptoms:

1. What pain do you feel in the penis and anus, burning, heaviness, stretching, or some other kind?

2. For how long have you had this pain?

3. Does pain happen at the time of sexual intercourse, or does it happen otherwise also?

4. What is the intensity of the pain, severe, mild, or moderate?

5. Does the pain occur while urinating, masturbating, or passing stool?

6. When did you have the perineal massage?

7. What is your age?

Kindly revert with the answers.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for your reply.

I am in my mid-twenties and got the massage done a week ago. I am having discomfort, burning sensation, and numbness in these areas, which makes it difficult to have longer erections. Also, there is no pain while urinating; however, the pain persists during the daytime, which prevents me from feeling the pleasure. Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

As per the symptoms explained by you, there are possibilities of having prostatitis (inflammatory or infective), prostatic calculi, proctitis, or cystitis involving the trigone area. Usually, neuralgia causes electric current or burning-like pain and is unlikely to cause mild pain. I suggest you consult a urologist for physical examination and other investigations if needed.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Thank you for your reply.

So this is not neuralgia? Also, I was diagnosed with mycosis last month, and my urine smells different. Can this be linked to this condition? Kindly help.

Answered by Dr. Hitesh Kumar

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

If the urine smells different, there are chances of urinary tract infection, cystitis, or prostatitis. Also, your symptoms seem less likely to be neuralgia. However, there is no confirmatory test to confirm or rule out neuralgia. It is clinical speculation based on symptoms.

Thank you.
