Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have been suffering from psoriasis for the past seven years. It first started in my legs when I was 42 years old. It was well controlled with a topical ointment, but now it is getting worse. It is spreading all over the body and scalp. I donated my kidney to my husband six years ago. So, the doctors advised me not to take tablets, and now I am taking ayurvedic medicines. Though I feel better now, my legs' black scars and redness still remain. What should I do?

Kindly suggest.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you for your reply.

The psoriasis scars are very severe in my legs, lower back, and thighs, almost everywhere. As I already mentioned, I am a kidney donor who donated my right kidney to my husband six years ago. Also, I did a blood test two days ago, and my blood sugar levels were normal. What can I do further?

Please help.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I have gone through the image you have attached (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity). It looks like scabbing and white plaques. These are mostly healed lesions. However, kindly answer my questions mentioned below to guide you better,

1. Do you have pain or itching?

2. Which topical medicine did you use?

I wish you good health.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you for your reply.

I am using Clonate or Tenovate ointment. I have no pain, but I have slight itching. If I scratch with my nails, there is irritation. The lesions are above knees, below thighs, scalp, and lower back, and they have spread everywhere in a month. I have been taking ayurvedic medicines mostly shrubs and kashayam, for the past fifteen days, but I have stopped taking them now.

Also, the lesions on my scalp are better now, and they do not look like plaques; now, it looks like dandruff. What should I do?

Kindly suggest.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Fine, it is a sign of healing. I suggest you to continue both the topical medicines. They will be sufficient. Please consult with your doctor, talk to them and take the medication with their consent.

Do you have your previous pictures for comparison?
