Puj Obstruction

Blockage in the pelvic-ureteric junction is known as PUJ obstruction. It is the junctional part between the renal pelvis and ureter. The renal pelvis act as a collecting part of the urine. Narrowing of this junction due to obstruction leads to the collection of urine and enlargement of the part. This condition is termed hydronephrosis. Pyeloplasty is a surgical procedure that is performed to treat such conditions.
