PUVA is the short form of a combination of treatments to treat severe skin diseases like vitiligo, psoriasis, dermatitis, etc. The PUVA or photochemotherapy includes Psoralens and UVA (long-wave ultraviolet radiation) exposure. PUVA therapy is available in oral and topical forms. Psoralens is a plant compound which are taken as capsules or applied as gels and lotions followed by UVA lamp exposure.
