Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am 43 years old with PVC and PAC's. Very mildly elevated cholesterol. I had a treadmill test and it said borderline ST segment changes. So, my cardiologist had me do a treadmill with echo (I do not have the results yet). My question is if I get back the treadmill with echo results and everything is normal, can I stop worrying? I have had a coronary calcium score test. Currently, I am taking testosterone replacement and supplements (Magnesium, Zinc, Probiotics, Vitamin D, and Fish oil).

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

If treadmill with echo report comes normal, it rules out major blockages in your coronary arteries.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

Is 5 high for calcium score? I know I am only 43 years old but I was told that it is still considered low. With a strict diet and exercise in the future will that number remain at 5 as I get older? I want to put a strong focus on diet and exercise from now on.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

It is definitely low for your age. Calcium score increases with age. As your body gets older, vessels show some degenerative changes which are picked up by CT (computed tomography) as a calcium score. Your calcium score will increase with age but may increase to a lesser extent if you maintain a healthy lifestyle. If your treadmill with echo report comes normal, you can stop worrying. Maintain a healthy lifestyle, like diet, exercise, and no nicotine.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
