Cancer treatment that uses high doses of radiation (x-rays) to kill cancer cells is called radiotherapy or radiation therapy. The two types of this therapy are external beam and internal radiation therapy. Radiotherapy is either used before surgery to shrink the size of the tumor or after surgery to kill the remaining cancer cells.

How to prevent damage to my eyes caused by radiotherapy for my nose cancer?

Query: Hi doctor,I have nose cancer, so I am going to get radiotherapy. The doctor said that the radiation might touch the eye, which may lead to loss of vision and eye removal. Is there any other way to prevent this? Please help.  Read Full »
