Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I do not have pain while touching. No oozing too but yes at night it feels itchy. Also, I feel itching all over my body like mosquitoes are biting all over but that does not seem to be the case. Can you also suggest something for this itchiness all over my body it mainly happens during the night in high intensity it is normal in the mornings..

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

It could be a hypersensitivity reaction to itch mite antigen (scabies), as night aggravation of itching is typically seen in scabies. I suggest:

1. Apply 5 percent Permethrin cream at night on day one and day seven (repeat another week too).

2. Apply below the neck all over the body (contact period eight to 12 hours) apply at night, and wash off the next morning.

3. Use Cetrimide (Alkyltrimethyl ammonium bromide) and Permite (Isopropyl myristate, Lanolin alcohols) BB bar soap for baths for two months.

4. Apply Mupirocin cream in the daytime for 10 days.

5. Tablet Ivermectin 12 mg once a week for two weeks (two tablets only).

6. Tablet Teczine-M (Levocetirizine and Montelukast) once at night after food for 10 days.

7. Maintain proper hygiene, as hygiene plays a very important role.

8. Wash clothes separately in hot water. Avoid sharing personal belongings like towels, soaps, combs, clothes, and bed sheets.

9. Treat family members if similar complaints.

10. Regular change of pillow covers, bed sheets, and bed linens.

11. Avoid scratching and rubbing of lesions. Follow up after two weeks.

I hope I have cleared all your doubts.

Thank you.
