Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 25-year-old female. My height is 5 feet, and my weight is 145 pounds. My main problem is that I cannot control my mind, so I doubted my boyfriend because he likes someone else. He said they were just friends and wanted to be friendly with me, but I was scared that I would lose him. I also know he will not marry me, but I love him very much, so I cannot control myself from talking to him. I think about him the whole day. Please help me overcome this feeling.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

You can either be his friend or his lover, but not both. Either stay with him accepting that he will not marry you, or move on and do not be friendly with him. It will be difficult for you, but it will help you later. I suggest you move on in your life, and you must stop stalking him on social media. You should not stay alone and be active as much as possible. You should discard all the stuff related to his memories. You might have depression if you remain just stuck to it. You should follow the below guidelines for a healthy lifestyle and prevent yourself from getting depressed:

  1. You should exercise daily for 30 to 45 minutes and go for a walk.
  2. You should do meditation for 20 minutes daily. Sit in a comfortable position and concentrate on your normal breathing. Do not force yourself to stop your thoughts.
  3. You should eat healthy home-cooked foods and avoid junk foods.
  4. You should spend quality time with friends and family daily or do video calls if you are living away from your family.
  5. You should spend time on creative hobbies like reading good books, writing journals, painting, drawing, and learning new skills, language, or musical instruments.
  6. You should work seven to eight hours daily.
  7. You must avoid tobacco, alcohol, or any other substance abuse.
  8. Live your life and do not just spend it.
  9. You must not waste your life on someone who does not care for you. Live life for your parents who have taken care of you since birth.

Thank you.
