Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I attended a gathering one week back and for the past two days, I am not keeping well. I have a runny nose, headache, mild temperature, and often feel tired. Is it anything that I need to worry about? Can you suggest ways to feel normal? Is it any bacterial or viral illness? Should I take any tests to confirm it? Symptoms are bothering me a lot.

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for your query.

I am sorry to hear that you are not feeling well. Based on the symptoms you described, it is possible that you have contracted a viral illness. However, it is not possible to confirm the cause of your symptoms without a medical evaluation. It is important that you take steps to prevent the potential spread of any illness to others. You should self-isolate and avoid close contact with others until you have fully recovered. To help relieve your symptoms and feel more comfortable, I suggest you to follow the measures mentioned below:

  1. Get plenty of rest: This will help your body recover and heal.
  2. Stay hydrated: Drink plenty of water and other fluids to avoid dehydration.
  3. Take over-the-counter medications: You can take over-the-counter pain relievers like Acetaminophen or Ibuprofen to relieve headaches and fever.
  4. Use saline nasal spray: This can help relieve a runny or stuffy nose.
  5. Seek medical attention: If your symptoms persist or worsen.

Kindly consult a specialist, talk to them, and take medications with their consent.

In terms of testing, you can consider getting a COVID-19 test, especially if you have been in close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19. However, the symptoms you described are not specific to COVID-19.

I hope this has helped you.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
