Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am asking questions on behalf of my friend. She has a skin condition. It seems to be a kind of eczema with itching. She has red rashes on her body. Mostly it is present on her legs and genitals.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Please mention whether your friend has a history of mite allergies. Please mention whether she has excess scratching and rubbing of the lesions. Please mention whether she has spreading margins and it involves the web spaces of the fingers. Please mention whether she has a fever and any drug allergies. Please mention whether she has any systemic illness with herpes and any tingling sensation. Please mention whether she has any burning sensation.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

She has dust allergy. She never had any skin lesions or atopic eczema. She does not have any fever and any drug allergy. She does not have any systemic illness. She does not have herpes. She has some rashes on the web spaces of the fingers. She cannot sleep at night due to intense itching all over the body. She also has wounds and scarring. She has this problem for a month. She has these rashes on her stomach, back, arms, legs and in her private parts. Her sister also has this similar itching but with fewer problems. She spent her quarantine in a dirty place. Could this be scabies? The rash looks unspecific with small vesicles and bumps with artifacts of scratching.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Your friend can have atopic dermatitis with scabies. She can take tablet Loratadine 10 mg once a day after taking breakfast for ten days. She can use Permite BB (Elestab) bar soap for bathing for two months. She can use Nadifloxacin two percent cream twice daily for 15 days. She can also use Fucibet cream (Betamethasone with Fusidic acid) in the evening after cleaning the area with warm water or normal saline.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

Please prescribe some specific treatment for scabies. Can she use Permethrin five percent?

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Please mention whether she has eczema on the web spaces of the fingers. Please mention whether similar complaints are present in their family members.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

Yes, one of her younger sister has rashes and itching. I asked them to compare it and it looked alike. She does not have rashes on the web spaces of the fingers. But she has them on the private parts. The symptoms got gradually increased and it became worse now. She has more itching during night time than morning. Both my friend and her sister have rashes on the same location in the body.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

She can use Permite five percent cream at night for seven days. Keep the application for eight to twelve hours and wash it on the next day. Scabies is caused due to itch mite. It is facilitated by overcrowding and poor hygiene. It also spreads by close physical contact. Other family members also get affected. Follow the treatment as mentioned above. Wash your clothes and bed linen in warm water. Itching can persist for four weeks and lasts for seven to ten days after taking treatment. Please mention whether she has any whitish or wavy dark lines with papule or vesicle appearance.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

Do you prescribe any medications?

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Prescription cannot be given here. Please mention whether she has any wavy dark lines with papule or vesicle appearance.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
