Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am concerned about having some pain in one of my testicles. I have been struggling with eczema for years and one of the worst areas affected is my scrotum. It itches at night and there have been periods where I itch it until it is raw. I have tried everything to get eczema to go away and nothing works. I am concerned that I may have damaged one of my testicles around a year ago when I was having a really bad eczema outbreak and was scratching it too much. As there has been a pain in my right testicle every now and then and I feel like it does not hang the same way anymore (it looks like it hangs more vertically than the other one). It also sometimes spins around in weird positions but it usually goes back to normal quickly. Should I be concerned? Is it possible that I may have ripped or damaged something? Kindly suggest.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

To me, it seems nothing happened to your testis and there might be different causes of the pain including varicocele or intermittent torsion. To remove all doubts you should go for an ultrasound of the scrotum, which will show everything if the ultrasound is normal. Then for sure, there is nothing wrong with it otherwise please share the result with me and I will update you for further management. Regarding eczema, you should see a dermatologist. If you have any more questions please let me know.

Thank you.
