Hi doctor,

I am a 29-year-old male. I took a semen test as my wife is unable to conceive. Kindly help.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Your semen is normal (attachment removed to protect patient identity). There is a slight reduction in rapidly active sperms. You can have a course of antibiotics like tablet Levofloxacin 500 mg once a day for 10 days. Any infection causing that problem will be resolved. Kindly see if any of the following investigations need to be done: Both you and your partner's blood sugar levels, thyroid profile. Wife's weight control. BMI should be less than 24 kg/m². Pelvic scan to rule out any uterine fibroid or polyps, any ovarian problem. Fallopian tube patency with HSG (hysterosalpingography) x-ray with dye or laparoscopy. These tubes are where egg meets sperm and forms embryo. But they can never be seen on the scan. If all these are normal, there is no chance that she will not get pregnant.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
